| The ADA Accessibility Committee met on Friday, May 5, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in Conference Room A of the Powell Building. The following individuals attended: |

| Dr. Naugle brought the meeting to order. He passed around the agenda and the letter to Dr. Fred Kolloff regarding closed captioning. Dr. Naugle asked for a motion for the acceptance of the minutes. Dr. Loy said he changed something in the last meetings' proposed minutes as they appeared on the website. Dr. Mercer made a motion to accept the minutes. Ms. Belluscio seconded. All were in favor. |

OLD BUSINESS
- Discussion of Letter to Dr. Kolloff
- This letter is in support of getting equipment that is accessible.
- Dr. Loy made the motion for the letter to be sent to Dr. Kolloff. Seconded by Ms. Jones. All were in favor.
- Web Issues
- Dr. Loy said that the Committee now has a new URL, access.eku.edu or www.accessibility.eku.edu.
- Dr. Naugle asked Ms. Clark to talk with Mr. Ron Yoder about getting Dr. Loy and Ms. Clark access to the website.
- Admission Policy
- The policy proposal has been passed.
- The committee discussed following up with Admissions on the communication of the new policy to prospective students.
- Dr. Naugle asked Ms. Belluscio to talk with Admissions regarding what is being sent out to students regarding admission requirements. Motion made by Dr. Kautzmann for Ms. Belluscio to explore this with Admissions. Seconded by Ms. Jones. All were in favor.

NEW BUSINESS
- Parking Issues
- Mr. Jozefowicz mentioned the changes that are planned for this summer dealing with parking. The University plans to re-pave the parking lots and repaint them. The University will reseal and re-pave parking lots for van accessibility. Some more handicap parking will be added. Custom-made handicap parking signs are being obtained.
- Dr. Mercer and Dr. Naugle drove around campus separately and once together documenting parking situations at different times and places.
- Dr. Mercer passed out a sheet listing the places they had identified as having parking problems.
- Mr. Jozefowicz said that the sheet they handed out would be representation enough to go look at these areas and see what could be done to correct some of the problems.
- Mr. Jozefowicz said starting this summer there will be a committee looking at people's parking files to make sure they need to have a handicap parking permit. They will be requiring everyone that is to have a handicap parking permit submit a letter from his/her doctor stating the need for this permit.
- Dr. Mercer has talked with her department chair regarding the possibility of having independent study classes (Survey Research) monitor people that have accessibility issues with parking. This data could be turned into Public Safety for review and consideration.
- Mr. Herzog mentioned having the section in front of McGregor Hall turned into handicap parking. He said he would check with Mr. James Street.
- Mr. Jozefowicz will check out all the places listed on the sheet passed around by Dr. Mercer.
- Agenda for Next Meeting
- Plan Summer and Fall Meetings.
- Review Brochure Ideas.
- Bring any materials that may be included in the brochure.
